A free community supper in the Willey Building on a Monday night in February (2/26 at 6:00 pm) takes many hands to make it work. People are stepping up to volunteer crock pots full of hot food, cakes, and cookies. The Den will be there with beverages for sale, everything else will be free.
Please join us for a fun, educational, and hopefully productive evening, when the good citizens of Cabot will have a chance to talk to our legislators in Montpelier about policies that leave us with big tax increases because of the arbitrary penalties imposed by their one-size-fits-all approach to education.
We need volunteers to help cook, set up, and clean up. We are asking people to come with either a crock pot with hot soup or stew, cakes, and cookies. Please label what you bring with the ingredients, especially if you have used wheat flour, milk, cheese, or other dairy, nuts, meat, sugar, or other allergens. We don't need the proportions - no need to disclose ancient family recipe secrets. We are also taking cash donations to help pay for food... we are going to ask Sarah to make some of her delicious homemade casseroles.
It would help a lot if you could write to me at gwenhs@gmail.com if you plan to bring something, so we can make sure there is enough for everyone. We live in difficult times, but coming together as a community can help us go beyond polarizing politics to find practical solutions that work.
