All Our Black Voices
Wednesday, February 21 @ 7pm
Kellogg Hubbard Library
In celebration of Black History Month please bring your favorite books by black poets and join local poet Toussaint St. Negritude for an open reading in the round. We invite you to share and read aloud your favorite poem written by an African American poet. All are welcome to read, share and rejoice in our community's broad celebration of literary diversity. This program is free and open to all folks, all ages, all the community.
Former Poet Laureate of Belfast, ME, and long time resident of Northern Vermont, poet, jazz bass clarinetist, Toussaint St. Negritude conjures all crossroads of the spirit, the journey, and collective liberation, via the alpine climbs and declarations of a voice well worth the view. A west coast native, Toussaint is a proud product of revolution-era San Francisco, still daring to wondrously be free right here in Vermont.
"All our views, all our Reds, Whites, Browns and Blues, all our songs and tones infused, all our Black voices combined to lift and bloom."
-Toussaint St. Negritude
I hope to see some of you there!
