This conference is one of many next steps needed in response to the Women’s March on January 21, 2017. Women of Color and their experiences are the focus of the My Sister’s Keeper Challenge Conference. The purpose is to educate and investigate the inter-sectional realities to which Cis and Trans women live. Some white people may perceive Vermont to be a refuge. However, if you ask a person of color or someone from a marginalized community, it is definitely not a refuge.
“There many challenges unique to Vermont, and I think that's due to the population being close to 100 percent white." –Ebony Nyoni, co-founder and Lead Organizer of Black Lives Matter VT.
