In response to the national opioid crisis, The Joint Commission, CDC, the American College of Physicians and the Vermont Legislature have encouraged medical professionals to make greater use of non-pharmacologic approaches to pain management. This conference is designed to introduce providers to non-drug alternatives for managing pain that they may not be aware of. The University of Vermont designates this live activity for a maximum of 7 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM, 7 Nursing Contact Hours, 7 hours for pharmacists. Applications for acupuncturists, alcohol and drug abuse counselors, dieticians/nutritionists, mental health counselors, physical therapists, psychologists, and social workers are pending.
