I want to encourage you to come to Vern Grubinger’s presentation Climate Change and Our Food System from 10-12 on Wednesday morning at the Dummerston Grange.

Vern will present research and outreach to help consumers, farmers and food businesses understand and prioritize the many practical actions that can be taken to address climate change, and will include examples of climate change adaptation and mitigation being practiced by local farmers.
Extension Professor Vern Grubinger is the vegetable and berry specialist at the University of Vermont. He also servers as coordinator of the USDSA’s Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (NE-SHARE), which annually awards $4 million in grants to reserachers, farmers and educators across the 12 Northeast states.

It would be great if you could attend. The suggested donation is $15. These funds are used for environmental education programs at the local school.

This program is co-sponsored by the Dummerston Conservation Commission and the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center. For information call 257-0012, e-mail info@dummerstonconservation.com or check dummerstonconservation.com.
