Advance Directives Discussion & Information

Past event
Feb 20, 2018, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM

Join us on February 20th at the Winooski Senior Center for lunch and a discussion about Advance Directives. Doors open at 10:30a.m, lunch at 11:30 and the discussion will begin at noon. Come for lunch and stay or just come for the talk!

What are Advance Directives and why should you care? An advance directive is what many people think of as a living will, or a durable power of attorney for health care. An advance directive is a written document that outlines your wishes for medical treatment in the future, including if you are no longer able to make those decisions.

We each have the right to make our own health care decisions. An advance directive ensures your end of life and other critical healthcare decisions will be honored.

Our discussion will be led by Cindy Bruzzese, the Executive Director of the Vermont Ethics Network (VEN). She is also the Chair of the Ethics Committee for the State of Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) and serves on the clinical consult team for the Central Vermont Medical Center Ethics Committee.

The Age Well Lunch is $5.00 by donation. Menu: turkey a la king, parslied potatoes, Harvard beets, biscuit, and pudding and our famous salad and fixin's bar. Call 655-6425 to reserve your meal by noon on Friday, 2/16.

The Winooski Senior Center is a friendly, community gathering place where you can connect, volunteer, enjoy cultural experiences, have a great meal, take classes and much more! Call us at 655-6425 to reserve your meal or for more information.
