Dear Newport Community Members,
At the recent ReNewport Community Meeting, community members set four priorities for action for the future of Newport:
Expand Community Events and Celebrations
Enhance and Market the Newport Tourism Experience
Support and Attract Businesses and Entrepreneurs
Improve and Coordinate Health and Wellness Services and Early Childhood Care and Education
Task force groups are being formed to help address these key priorities and they need your help ! A number of volunteers signed up Wednesday but w e hope more members of the Newport community will join one or more task force groups to move these initiatives forward. Simply reply to this email and let us know the task force(s) you would like to join and we will add you to the list. And spread the word by forwarding this email to others in the community.
The next meeting in the Community Visit process is set for Wednesday, February 21st from 6:30 to 9:00pm at the North Country Career Center. VCRD will bring a new Visiting Resource Team of state, federal, regional, non-profit, and philanthropic leaders to Newport to help task force groups as they develop action steps and resource ideas to move these projects forward. Newport has set an ambitious agenda; it can succeed in these goals if residents line up for action.
We’re building a Facebook album of the ReNewport Community Visit process: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1632769236783627.1073741856.469840923076470&ty[...]0b4 Check out the photos and be sure to tag yourself!
Hope to see you on February 21st!
