We're having a Salt Pork dinner Friday night at the Lodge on the corner of North and Elm streets in Bristol. Open to the public and dinner starts at 5pm until we run out or 7pm. Dinner will be salad, soup, salt pork cooked the old fashioned way in a cast iron frying pan, mashed potatoes with milk gravy, veggie and pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Reservations recommended by calling 453-4877 and leave a message and of course walk-ins will be accepted until we run out of food. $10 per adult. If you don't know what salt pork is it's basically thick sliced bacon that's salted to cure. We "freshen" it up and then fry it to be a little bit crispy. Hope to see you there.
