All events free and open to the public. Lunch is optional and costs $7 for anyone 60 or under.

Lunch and celebration, 12-2:30pm
First, Join Montpelier Senior Activity Center instructor Ellie Hayes and local elementary students visiting to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. Join us for a special Chinese FEAST lunch at at 12pm ($7 for anyone 60 or under, $5 suggested donation for 60+). Over lunch, watch demonstrations of Chinese calligraphy. At 1pm, watch or try a traditional paper-cutting art project, and finally, at 1:45pm, head up to our 2nd floor Studio for a short Tai Chi demonstration and lesson. Ellie has practiced both Chinese calligraphy and tai chi for several decades and leads Tai Chi classes at MSAC along with training new teachers around the state.

China Travel Talk and Slideshow, 6:30-8:00pm
Travel Talk and Slideshow presented by members of the Montpelier Senior Activity Center April 2017 trip to Beijing and Xian, China. Witness and hear stories of a selection of group members’ adventures, architectural wonders and historic sites they visited, including the Great Wall, Forbidden City and Terra Cotta Warriors, favorite culinary delights, and more!
