Vermont Humanities Council presents: Helene Lang as Agatha Christie
Sunday, February 11th, 2pm in Stowe
On Sunday, February 11th at 2pm all are invited to the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS) to enjoy a presentation by Helene Lang as she gives a living-history performance as the famous British mystery writer Agatha Christie.
Lang, a retired professor of literacy and literature at the University of Vermont, will lead a discussion about Agatha Christie's life in England. She tells how a typewriter in Torguay spawned over 80 mysteries and created Miss Jan Marple and Hercule Poirot. Hear about the influences in Christie’s life that led her to create her famous detectives. Learn about the poisons used in her stories and why she went to Yorkshire under an assumed name.
This afternoon presentation is free, handicap accessible and all are welcome. Refreshments will be served after the program.
JCOGS is located at 1189 Cape Cod Road in Stowe.
