Acting Workshop with Michael Monks

Michael Monks, renowned actor and coach from L.A will be returning to Vermont the weekend of February 21-23, to teach a two day scene studies acting workshop. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for beginning or experienced actors to work with one of the best acting coaches in the field. (Please see partial bio below or go to IMDB for his full bio).
The fee is $275. Participants will do their 1st work on Fri. Feb 21. Sat. Feb 22, is open for participants to rehearse and then return on Sun. Feb. 23 for their 2nd and final work.
Preparation includes reading The Power of the Actor (prerequisite for the class), applying this acting technique to your scene (i.e., applying 12 steps from Ivana Chubbuck method to your scene), learning your lines inside and out and rehearsing with your scene partner at least 2 to 3 times in person and several times via telephone.

Michael Monks spent eight years in New York City before relocating to Los Angeles. He studied with Sanford Meisner in New York, and currently studies with Ivana Chubbuck. He has been teaching at her Ivana's studio for over 12 years. Michael has appeared in over one hundred films and television shows. He was last seen on the big screen in End of Watch, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pina. Sabotage with Arnold Schwarzenegger opens in April. Some of his other film credits include Street Kings, Harsh Times, Garfield, Air Force One, Out on a Limb, Blue, The Broken Hearts Club and the soon to be released, Columbia Ave, The Vortex, and Duke. He just finished shooting Parallels a pilot for Fox Digital. He recently did guest appearances on Bones and NCIS. But he is probably most recognizable for his long running role of George Vogelman, the cross dressing nun killer on The Practice, for which TV Guild named him their Guest Star of the Year. Michaels first feature directorial turn, Siblings, has been released on DVD. He also recently directed the internet pilot Domestic Partners and a stage production of The Baby Dance. His first music video, for the song Staircases, by new artist Jane Benney, can be seen online.
