Tickets are now on sale at the Aldrich Public Library for the Friends of the Library Annual Winter Banquet/Auction on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 5:30 pm at the Barre Elks Lodge. A $30 ticket will purchase hors d’oeuvres made by the Friends, a delicious beef tenderloin dinner (vegetarian option available) prepared by Elks’ chef John Cutler and staff, and dessert donated by Ben & Jerry’s. There will be a cash bar and plenty of time to socialize, bid on silent auction items, and view special items slated for the live auction
A highly prized homemade pecan pie sparked a fierce round of competitive bidding at last year’s event, and the Friends are hoping for even more excitement this year, as several donors have come forward with unusual treasures including a pair of wool Kashan area rugs (4 ½’ x 8 ½’ each), an iconic Vermont photograph by Richard W. Brown, an opportunity to be a character in author Archer Mayor’s newest mystery, tickets to events, gift certificates from local businesses, and – of course – another pie. A growing list of silent and live auction items can be found on the library’s website www.aldrichpublicibrary.org.
Purchase your tickets to the banquet/auction by Friday, February 16, to be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to the Quarry Kitchen and Spirits. Call the library at 476-7550 for more details.
