Proverbs. Have you ever wondered where some of them come from? Wolfgang Mieder, Ph.D will present a lecture entitled "All Men Are Created Equal": The History and Meaning of an American Proverbial Claim.

Mieder is a Professor of German and Folklore at UVM. He will trace the origin of All Men Are Created Equal and its use in History through the ages. He will also speak of other proverbs, their meaning and origins.

This lecture can be heard Wednesday January 31, at the Town and Country Resort on the Mountain Road in Stowe at 1:30 PM. Beverages and refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the lecture. There is a $5.00 fee for the lecture.
