5pm: Cocktails (cash bar)
6pm: Bluebird Barbecue buffet (V/GF options available)
7pm: Calcutta raffle**
We'll have DJ Raul spinning all night (get those dancing shoes out!) and a 50/50 draw as well -- it'll be a great place to be on a winter's evening!
$80 gets you your Calcutta entry -- a chance to win a $1200 jackpot and other great prizes, and dinner for 2.
Proceeds from the event go to our club's equipment fund to cover things like starter paddles and PFDs (can't show folks the joys of dragon boat without these!), boat repairs (there's always a ding or two each season), trailer upgrades (to make it, ahem, legal), and equipment shed maintenance (well, it's kinda falling down, so maybe a new shed).
**Never been to a Calcutta? Participants are assigned numbers 1 through 100. Balls are drawn one by one, eliminating people from the raffle. (Small prizes are awarded every few numbers.) When we get down to ten numbers, those left standing decide as a group whether to split the $1200 jackpot or keep drawing. When we get down to the last number, or to a group that wants to split the jackpot, it's awarded!
There are a few other fun twists as well, but those are the basics. It's big fun, and we'd love it if you could join us (don't make us dance by ourselves!).

(Oh, and if you can't physically be there, you can still buy an entry if you like! Unfortunately, we won't be able to ship you your dinner, but we can definitely put you in the running for the jackpot and other prizes!)
