Orchard Wassail Saturday!

Past event
Jan 27, 2018, 3 to 6 PM

Come join us for Champlain Orchard's 6th Annual Orchard Wassail Celebration!
This Saturday, January 27th, from 3-6pm.

For this annual tradition, we gather together with community to thank our trees for an amazing harvest, and bless them for the year ahead...
There will be singing, warm drinks, horse & wagon rides, traditional songs and ceremonies, hearty soup & bread, hard cider tasting, crafts, & a bonfire on the hill to top off the night!
Live music with Lyn Elder- local folk musician, historian and intrument maker...
The event runs from 3-6 pm, but meet us at the bonfire on the hill at 4:00 for the orchard walk to celebrate the trees and sing Wassail songs.
Spend the time from 3-4 enjoying music, drinking warm drinks, creating dried apple crafts or noisemakers for the walk, going on a horse-drawn wagon ride, or tasting hard cider! The walk finishes around 4:30, so there is plenty of time to enjoy the festivities, mingle by the fire, and share a warm meal and drink...
This is a wonderful way to spend time outside in our orchard in winter, and all ages are welcome and encouraged to join.
This community event is FREE to attend(with a suggested donation of $10 to help cover the cost of horse and wagon rides and music)
We will be charging a small fee for purchases of soup and bread, cider donuts, and other orchard goods. A 10$ orchard mug will buy you two free refills of hard cider grog or warm sweet cider.
See you up on the hill!
