Visiting Writers/Illustrators at VCFA's MFA residency

Join us for the public readings and book signings this coming week at Vermont College of Fine Arts during the MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults winter residency. These events are free and open to the public, and will take place in the Chapel, College Hall. Vermont College of Fine Arts, 36 College Street, Montpelier, VT.

Marie-Louise Gay, Visiting Author/Illustrator
From picture books like the 'Stella and Sam' series to novels like 'Travels with My Family', Gay has written and/or illustrated over sixty books for children that have been published in over fifteen languages. She has won many awards including two Governor General’s Awards, the Vicky Metcalfe Body of Work Award, the E.B.White Award and nominated twice for the Hans Christian Andersen Award and the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award.

Lucy Christopher, Writer-in-Residence
Christopher is the award-winning author of three novels, 'Stolen', 'Flyaway', and 'The Killing Woods' (January 2014). Her recognition for 'Stolen' includes the 2010 Branford Boase Award, the Australian Gold Inky Award, the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year for Older Readers Award, and it was long-listed for the Carnegie Medal. Her second novel 'Flyaway' was also long-listed for the Carnegie Medal and was short-listed for the Waterstones Prize and the Costa Book Award 2010. Her publisher describes her third novel 'The Killing Woods' as combining “dark young adult themes with the lightness of touch for which Lucy Christopher is so acclaimed.” Lucy Christopher grew up in Australia and currently resides in the UK.
