On Sunday January 28, AudubonVT will present Vermont’s Winter Duck Show. There are often tens of thousands of ducks and other diving birds on Lake Champlain during the winter, birds that breed far north of us and come down to Vermont like Vermonters heading to Florida for warmer temperatures. We'll look at these beauties and talk about identifying and enjoying them. After an indoor presentation, we'll head out to the waterfront to spot some local waterfowl. Extra scopes and binoculars will be available to borrow. – Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center, 60 Lake Street, Burlington (2nd floor gallery), 1:00 – 3:00 – Go to http://vt.audubon.org/events/vermonts-winter-duck-show to register. (Make it a day! Take in the Audubon Photography Awards Exhibit at Union Station – the other Main Street Landing location - and enjoy lunch or brunch at the Skinny Pancake!)
