Past event
Jan 13, 2014, 7 to 10 PM

Dear Neighbors,

The City Council will convene its second of three regular meetings for the month of January this coming Monday.

Following a brief Local Control Commission meeting, the Council will convene our meetineg shortly after 7pm in Contois Auditorium in City Hall.

We will begin our meeting with a presentation from the School Department and School Board on the FY 15 School Budget.

We will then have a presentation from Burlington Electric Department on the proposed purchase of the Winooski One Hydro Facility. This purchase would be financed by revenue bonds issued by the City on behalf of BED. We would all be voting on this bonding on Town Meeting Day.

We will have a first reading on an ordinance change regarding the expansion of the Mixed Use District.

We have two resolutions to vote on Monday evening. This first resolution addresses altering Hyde Street at the intersection of North Willard Street to restrict motor vehicle access. The second resolution concerns a review of mental health response options and asks the Police Department, Commission and the Howard Center to review procedures and report back to the Council in the spring with any recommendations to improve our process.

We will then have council committee reports, comments from councilors and the Mayor. Please keep in mind that you are welcome to come to a council meeting and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm.

Our last agenda item will be an Executive Session on Burlington Telecom.

Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website: http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CityCouncil/Agendas-and-Minutes---DMS-Documents/City-Council/201[...]da/
Please keep in mind that at all Council meetings are televised live on Channel 317 on Burlington Telecom.

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. Please email or give me a call over the weekend or on Monday.

All my best,
Karen
