Poetry People
Can you hear the piper calling?
Oh! It must be a sign.
A Beyond The Yellow Door night is coming
Filled with Rabbie Burns' words, yours and mine.
My toes are already tapping,
My heartbeat keeping time
At the thought of all of that lush imagery
Gently wrapped in free verse and rhyme.
You know somewhere deep inside
You too are doing a wee jig.
After all the wind and snow and ice
Embracing the warmth of poetry is big.
Alas there will be no Haggis
Unless Rabbie's "Address To It" is said.
Come on!
It's January 21, 2014 in Jeffersonville, VT
We'll stuff a pumpkin instead.
So dream of wild roses and heather
In the Mason jar by your bed
And prepare for an evening of bag pipes,
good company, the sweetest of words
and of course...
Laurie's chocolate bread.
With A Wee Bit of Writing in our Heads,
LN and Laurie
