Final Reminder: the Repair Cafe sponsored by the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District and Onion River Exchange is this Saturday, January 20, 12-4 PM at the Barre First Universalist Church.
Bring a broken but beloved item to be fixed for free by one of our volunteer fixperts. The array of on-site repair skills available will include: sewing, gluing (furniture, wires, wooden objects, ceramics, etc.), computers, computer peripherals and electronics, electrical, household items, small furniture, sharpening knives and tools, toys, woodworking, and small appliance repair. If you bring clothing, textiles or fabrics that need sewing or mending, please make sure items are cleaned ahead of time; bring your own matching thread if you can. If you anticipate that a repair will require a specific part, please try to bring it with you. If you dont have a piece you need, local hardware stores will be open during our Repair Cafe hours and materials can be purchased there.
Additionally, please bring any repair manual or instructions. Well try to get as much fixed as possible given the time, talents, and tools available. A resource table will be open for browsing, as well as light refreshments and hot drinks by donation. Bring your beloved broken items to the Repair Cafe!
