Ethan Allen Homestead Museum – Sunday, January 21st, 2:00 p.m. "The Role of the Militia in the Revolutionary War"

In April 1775, Joseph Knight, a prominent farmer from Scituate, Rhode Island answered the call, leading the first group of Rhode Islanders to join the Revolution. He later took on a prominent role in several battles, and became a leader in the new United States of America. Come hear the story of this remarkable man and the role the common American helped play in the American Revolution. This lecture will challenge your perception of the role of the militia in the Revolutionary War.

Robert Grandchamp is the award winning author of a dozen books on American military history. He earned his MA in American History from Rhode Island College. Robert is a former National Park Ranger, and for the last seven years has been an analyst with the immigration service. He resides in Jericho Center, Vermont with his wife Elizabeth.
