Jay Craven will screen and discuss two award winning films from the 2017 Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival:
“Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story,” an outstanding documentary directed by Alexandra Dean, and winner of the MNFF Audience Award – Best Feature, tells the story of Hedy Lamarr, a Hollywood glamour icon who had a secret identity as a technological trailblazer who perfected a radio system to prevent the Nazis from jamming American torpedoes during WWII. Preceding the feature will be “An Autobiography,” a short film from Finnish director Mari Mantela, a quiet comedy with a warm heart that follows Anja, a woman who knows everything about cars but nothing of herself. “An Autobiography” won the MNFF Audience Award – Best Short.
