Wards 4 & 7 NPA - Jan. 24 Agenda

Past event
Jan 24, 2018, 7 to 9 PM

Hello - NOTE: We have NOT put ELECTED OFFICIALS UPDATES on the January agenda this month. The School Board candidates will have the time this month. In addition we are doing a format change where we will have a panel at the tail of the NPA meeting.

I believe each of the known prospective Burlington School Board Candidates for the 2018-2020 term for either Ward 4 or Ward 7 have been informed that the January 24th Wards 4 & 7 NPA meeting will provide a half hour to have introductions and Q & A.

However, obtaining candidate names ahead of the filing deadline can be a challenge so if you are aware of others AND/OR wish to have a show of strong support of a known candidate, please help get the word out.

FINANCIAL FUTURES PANEL: This month the meeting will overlap with a featured panel sponsored by State Treasurer Beth Pearce, Representative Carol Ode and Representative Jean O'Sullivan and CVOEO - Financial Futures program. See a summary 2017 report at https://financialfuturesvt.egnyte.com/dl/IJn2funG78).

In addition, a hard-copy version of the book called "What It's Worth: Strengthening the Financial Futures for Families, Communities and the Nation" by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and Corporation for Enterprise Development (http://www.strongfinancialfuture.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/What-its-Worth_Full.pdf) will be available and a signups to a Book Club on the topic will be announced at the end.

NOTE: The Candidates and Ballot items of CITY HALL will be the focus of our February NPA meeting The City Council & Mayor races and Ballot issues will be the focus in February NPA meeting

Elected officials who wish to make comments for January may do so during the introductions & announcements period at the top of the meeting.

We Facebook live-stream the meeting as well as have Channel 17 record and replay meetings 5 times in next month. Meaning, the room is not the full extent of the audience - as we know that at past live-stream videos get hundreds views in Burlington. Plus both the Facebook and CCTV recordings are "forever" online for people to point to.
