Free Pizza and Documentary Discussion for Teens

Past event
Jan 15, 2018, 5 to 7:30 PM

The Basement Teen Center is proud to be hosting another great free event, in honor of MLK Day.

We are going to make some homemade pizza and watch the fabulous MTV documentary, White People.

White People is a documentary that turns the issues of race and racism up-side down as journalist, film-maker, and artful facilitator Jose Antonio Vargas explores what is means to be white in America. The documentary focuses on white people's experiences with gentrification, colonialism, family roots, and upward mobility.

There will be pizza at 5:00pm, and we'll start the movie at 6:00. There will be time after the film to debrief and talk about what we notice.

Although this event is being run by the Basement Teen Center and has a focus for teens, it is open to anyone who wants to come. Please join us for an evening of delicious food and discussion.
