Celebrate Valentine's Day: “Love Letters” Feb. 9

Past event
Feb 9, 2018, 7 PM

On Friday, February 9 at 7 pm, Wardsboro Curtain Call, Inc. will present “Love Letters” at Wardsboro Town Hall.

“Love Letters” is a play by A. R. Gurney that centers on two characters, Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III, two childhood friends from families of means (though Melissa’s is wealthier, as she frequently points out), whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. For the next fifty years, through personal triumphs and despair, through wars and marriages and children and careers, they discuss - via letters - their hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, victories and defeats – that have passed between them throughout their separated lives.

The play will be presented in the traditional manner - very simply, with two actors reading from the script, as if from letters.

This adult date night event is being produced by Wardsboro Curtain Call, Inc. as an early celebration of Valentine’s Day. Admission is by donation. The hall will be set up in café style, BYOB, with sweet refreshments available. If the event must be canceled due to severe weather conditions, it will be rescheduled for Friday, February 16 at 7 pm.
