Vermont Youth Development Corps and Vermont Youth Tomorrow members invite Montpelier community members to join us on Monday, January 15 for two exciting community service opportunities as part of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
Join us at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier for a community meal and special event to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lunch starts at 11:00 and from 1:00 - 3:30 we host facilitators from community organizations and create a community quilt reflecting the continuing work of Dr. King.
Between 8:00am and 6:00pm, AmeriCorps members will be on hand at the Hunger Mountain Co-Op, collecting donations for the Montpelier Food Pantry. Simply pick up a list of ‘most needed items’, and if you pick one up while you’re shopping, you can drop it off on your way out the door! It’s an easy way to make Dr. King Day of Service a ‘day on, not a day off’ and give a helping hand to neighbors in need in our community.
