On Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 5 - 7 PM at The Alley Gallery here in Center Street Alley in Rutland, we welcome artist Jessica Adams from New York City for her Opening Reception for her Solo Exhibition: "A piece of string or a sunset, each acts". Refreshments will be available as you meet with the artist and examine her installation.
Jessica Adams received her MFA in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in 2014, and her BA in English Writing and Studio Art from DePauw University in 2011. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. We are lucky to have her and her work here in VT!
This installation exhibition runs from January 13 through March 3, 2018. Open and free to the public.
ARTIST Statement: "I investigate daily phenomena such as vision, light, space, and the passage of time through a variety of materials, including site-specific installation, video, found objects and appropriated pages from books, Polaroid film, and old photographic materials. My practice takes up one of the main staples of Buddhism, “just seeing what there is to see” – and investigates how this sort of activity is physically and mentally possible."
