As you may know, CEDO annually plans a Dr Martin Luther King Jr. celebration event with ECHO Center each year, with support from the Mayor’s Office. Last year we highlighted Burlington’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative and our youth leaders that are making positive change in our community. This year, we come together for this important day of service to highlight themes of immigration and inclusion for the MLK Day 2018 celebration. Our country has a long history of immigration, full of the civil rights struggle for identity and belonging. Wherever your family history lay, we’re all affected by the current national anti-immigration dialogue and the erosion of our civil rights. Each year we celebrate and honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s work and legacy but the Civil Rights movement did not and cannot stop with him. Don’t sit out this day off, come celebrate and learn with us!
