Revitalizing Waterbury has been your community development organization for more than 25 years. We (actually YOU) have renovated and restored two amazing buildings (Stimson Graves and the railroad station), rebuilt downtown after the flood, been involved in the aesthetic look of our town with flower barrels and holiday trees, and supported our local businesses through a variety of economic activities. And we can, and will, continue to do all of that work.
However, we started to ask, what else could we do? What do the people of our town want? What are our priorities? What are our goals? I think these questions are being asked not just by RW, but by organizations and people all over town.
So, RW decided to hold a summit that will allow us to:
- discover our strengths – What do we, as a community, do well?
- dream about our future – What do we see happening next for Waterbury?
- determine opportunities - What can we do now? What can you do? What can we do together?
- figure out next steps – How can we get started right now?!
When we are done, RW will gather all this great new information and share it with the Selectboard and Waterbury’s non-profit organizations. We will also send it to the Waterbury Record, put it on Facebook and Front Porch Forum and share it via this newsletter.
Please come. The weather is going to be really COLD, so skiing-snowshoeing-snowboarding-hiking-sledding-snowmobiling are out of the question! I promise you’ll have a lot of fun. Everyone is invited, and of course, bring your friends!
