Coming up Thursday on Goddard College Community Radio - ideas about health care from a Vermont physician and a Vermont acupuncturist who has written about the connection between soil health and human health.
9:00 - 10:00 am
Ever want to interview your doctor about health care? That’s what I’m doing at the beginning of this week’s show. Kris Jensen is a physician at the UVM Medical Center’s Berlin Family Medicine, and I’ve had interesting conversations over the years with him about use and overuse of medical procedures, akin to the interview in December with H. Gilbert Welch. We’ll talk about physician’s role in bringing on the opioid crisis in the U.S. and their role in solving it, the possibilities and potential pitfalls of accountable care organizations like OneCare Vermont in reducing medical costs, and related topics.
Then we’ll talk again with Didi Pershouse, who has been working as an acupuncturist in the Upper Valley and has written The Ecology of Care: Medicine, Agriculture, Money, and the Quiet Power of Human and Microbial Communities.
