Dear neighbors and friends, I'm delighted to launch my novel, HEART SPRING MOUNTAIN, into the world at 118 Elliot in Brattleboro on Thursday, January 11th! There will be a reading, food, a Whetstone CiderWorks cash bar, and music.
The novel has been called:
“A fecund and contemplative feminist family saga.” (Kirkus)
“Powerful...MacArthur demonstrates a commanding ability to weave meaning from separate narrative threads, exploring how the impact of a person’s choices can echo through generations, even as a storm washes the past away.” (Booklist)
“Tender...nuanced, poetic, and evocative. MacArthur empathetically depicts each of her characters in their wounded but hopeful glory.” (Publishers Weekly, starred review)
This event is co-sponsored by Everyone's Books and the People, Places, and the History of Words in Brattleboro project, a new National Endowment for the Humanities-backed effort to explore and celebrate the rich but undersung presence and legacy of writing, publishing and printing in our region. 20% of all book sales support the People, Places and History of Words project. http://www.brattleboro.com/words/
