50 years ago, Martin Luther King kicked off a campaign by and for poor people. Four months later, he was assassinated, and the campaign never materialized. Now Rev. William Barber III, who some people know as the man who started Moral Mondays in North Carolina, has picked up the mantle and has organized a national movement to address the dire situation we find ourselves in - increasing inequality, mass incarceration, environmental degradation, rampant racism, and a government which is making things worse.
Join us at the United Church in Cabot this Sunday, December 31st, for an informational meeting about the campaign. The regular service with Rev. Christina Findlay starts at 10:00, the informational meeting will be 11:45. All are welcome - you don't need to be a member of the church.
You can learn more about the campaign at www.poorpeoplescampaign.org. If you have any questions, please contact Gwen at gwenhs@gmail.com, or 802-851-7697.
