Oldcastle Theater, Bennington, VT- Theater lovers of all ages are excited to attend the premiere of the Theater Arts students original one act plays. Whether your favorite is comedy, drama, or the messy complications of life and love, there is something for everyone:
Repercussions, by Kiah Mayer explores the consequences of a robbery gone wrong, The Ferns Between Us, by Sienna McFaline, is a modern comedy about the hazards of texting and dating, In Time to Get Spifflicated, by Rachel Langlois, we learn what happens when a teenage girl runs into trouble in a speakeasy while waiting for her father, In Bad Grades, by Garrett Cornell, students seek revenge after failing their class, Apartment 223, by Ben Bushee, follows a med student who finally finds an apartment, only to be surprised by the upbeat owners, Revenge Plan by Aubrie Osgood, follows a young woman on a mission and a couple who gets dragged along, Sleight of Hand, by Corey Hathaway is about a meeting at a train station which leads to a surprising conclusion, Baby Comes Back by Kayleigh Maddox, is about a young man who returns home to find his girlfriend questioning their relationship. Let your Conscience be Your Guide, by Shawn Devlin, explores the angst of two teens who like each other, but don't know how to act on it.
Audiences will recognize many of the students from their work with the MAUHS Drama Club plays and musicals. The plays are directed by Tim Foley,CDC Theatre Arts teacher and Eric Peterson, artistic director of The Oldcastle Theatre company. So come out and support our community's budding actors and playwrights at a fun night at Oldcastle! The plays will show at 7 pm on both nights. Donations for a Theatre Arts Scholarships will be accepted.
