This Thursday at the Calais school board meeting we will be considering draft #2 of next year’s school budget. With very small numbers of students in next year’s kindergarten and first grade classes, we are looking at the possibility of combining grades, resulting in fewer total classes and fewer teachers. Decisions about the budget and class configurations will be made in the next month or so. We encourage community engagement during the public comments portion of our meeting.
