South Burlington Family Center (SBFC), in collaboration with Building Bright Futures (BBF) and several other community organizations, is organizing the first ever Chittenden County Community Baby Shower on January 31, 2014.

There’s no denying it-- being a parent is hard work. Having a support system is essential during the many trials of parenthood. Upholding the “it takes a village” mindset of raising children, Colleen Christman, coordinator of the SBFC and organizer of the baby shower said the event “aims to educate and connect new parents to each other, their communities and local resources. It will be a lot of fun.” This free, interactive, celebration “promotes a true ‘Welcome Baby’ spirit within the community,” said Julianne Nickerson, regional coordinator of BBF Chittenden County Direct Services. Space is limited to 100 guests in an evening packed with fun activities and goodies for expectant parents, including pampering stations, gift bags, gift basket raffles, along with sweet and savory treats.
