The Onion River Chorus is presenting its Christmas Concert 2017: "Fire Burning in Snow," on Saturday, December 16, 7:30 PM and Sunday, December 17, 4:00 PM, both at the Montpelier Unitarian Church (a reception follows the Sunday concert). Admission at the door: $15 for adults, $12 for students & seniors.
The Chorus celebrates Christmas with 16th, 17th, and 18th century music from Mexico and Bolivia, music that is all but unknown in the United States, with texts in Spanish and indigenous Quechuan and Nahuatl languages. Directed by guest conductor Richard Riley, the Onion River Chorus is joined for this concert by soprano soloist Lindsey Warren, tenor soloist Adam Hall, guitarist Daniel Gaviria, and organist Lynnette Combs.
