For this week's walk, we will be meeting at the small parking lot located on Brookfield Road, about a mile from the intersection of Paine Turnpike on the Western side of Berlin Pond. The parking lot is well marked with a large sign for Irish Hill Trails. We will be taking the Darling Road Trail as it leads up the gentle slope to the historic Stewart Homestead site, then continuing to the Ridgeline Trail turnoff, (at this point more experienced walkers/hikers may choose to take the Ridgeline Trail for a more challenging walk). We will continue up Darling Road as far as our group is interested in exploring for that day, before doubling back the way we came. This trail may be wet, snowy or icy in spots so be sure to wear proper footwear for these possibilities. Please contact us if you need a ride to and from the walk starting site, as we will have carpooling options available from the Montpelier area. This is a FREE event.
