The Marshfield Recreation committee would like to invite elementary age kids into our community's indoor public space for some winter activity time out of the house. Join others at the Old Schoolhouse Common after school. We will have the gym open with balls and games, and provide some activity and games tables as options for calmer play time. We are NOT providing an afterschool program... rather, we want to provide a space to come hang out and play and be social to help alleviate winter's cabin fever around the house. Bring your kids (or have them accompanied with supervision) to play ball, play games, make art, do puzzles, hang out in the library - and come with any ideas, games, or activities you would like to share.
Begins Friday January 10th, and follows Twinfield schedule. This is a trial for January and February; to hopefully be continued into warmer months with outdoor play mixed in.
Remember, the gym and library are available as great resources much of the week. The gym's posted hours are weekdays 3:00 to 6:00 pm, with more hours on the weekend. This space is occasionally rented out for private events, in which case you'll have to wait for another time. The gym now has an assortment of balls for general use - a supervisor need just ask the librarian or town office crew for the lock combo (so supervisors have access and responsibility for assuring clean up, rather than a kids free-for-all being a burden on the buildings' staff).
