Here are some updates from your East Montpelier School Board:

3. We had our first Budget Meeting December 20th with our Administrators and we talked about our priorities and how
proud we are of the student outcomes we are seeing.

There will be an informational board forum on December 18th at 6pm in the library, please join us.

Here is an update from our principal that will be in our School News Letter:

"Last Monday evening I presented Draft 1 of the 2018-19 school budget to the school board. Draft 1 is essentially taking our current status and rolling it up into next year; taking into consideration health care, contractual changes, cost increases in transportation, etc. This budget represented an overall increase of $147,505 or 3.87%. After discussion, the board asked me to present a budget that represents a 3% increase at our next meeting on December 18th. As in past years, these cuts must maintain equitable education/excellence, focus on student outcomes, and maintain instructional leadership as my primary role. I am in the process of generating Draft 2, which will reflect these changes. As we learn more information in the coming weeks, I will keep you apprised of where we are in regards to the budget process, which will continue through mid-January." Alicia Lyford
