For this walk we will be meeting at the parking lot of the Martin Bridge Park just outside downtown Plainfield on US 2E . As you head through Plainfield on US 2E you will pass Maplefields on your left and the Martin Bridge Park is about a mile up the road on the right, (you can see the Martin Covered Bridge from the road). We will meet in the parking lot and then take a stroll through time and through the Martin Bridge which spans the Winnoski River. We will follow the trail as it winds along the river and up a small hill to great view of the surrounding countryside, then continue on the trail as it leads across the field and into the nearby woods. We suggest wearing at least one article of clothing that is orange or brightly colored for safety sake. We will venture as far into the woods as trail conditions allow and folks in our group wish to walk that morning before turning back the way we came. It may be chilly and or snowy by then, so snow boots ( or other proper footwear) are recommended for this walk. After the walk, we will be heading over to nearby Maplefields for a warm-up of hot coffee or some soup. Please let us know if you need a ride to and from this walk's location in Plainfield. We will have carpooling options available for anyone who lives in the Montpelier area and needs it. All ages and abilities are welcome. Please join us!
