"Wildlife on the Move" Presentation

Past event
Dec 6, 2017, 7 to 9 PM

The landscape between the Worcester Range and main Green Mountain chain along the Waterbury / Stowe town line, known locally as Shutesville Hill, has been identified as one of the most important wildlife travel corridors in Vermont.
Local, regional and statewide organizations are working together through the new Shutesville Hill Wildlife Corridor Partnership, along with landowners and concerned citizens, to keep the corridor safe and open for wildlife movement.

The Partnership is hosting a community presentation on December 6 from 7-9 pm at the Green Mountain Club Visitors Center to share information toward keeping the Corridor safe and open for wildlife passage. Bridget Butler, Program Director for Cold Hollow to Canada and proprietor of Bird Diva Consulting, will share the inspiring story of similar work to protect another critical habitat corridor along the Vermont-Quebec border. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and share suggestions and will find out how they can get involved.

The event is free and open to the public. Donations to the Waterbury Conservation Fund and any of the other partner organizations are welcome. Please visit https://www.stowelandtrust.org/events/detail/news/wildlife-on-the-move-how-we-can-protect-cr[...]rs/ for more information and to register for the event.

The Shutesville Hill Wildlife Corridor Partnership includes the Vermont Land Trust, Stowe Land Trust, Waterbury Conservation Commission, Stowe Conservation Commission, The Nature Conservancy, Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, and Vermont Agency of Transportation.
