Amaryllis: Vermont's Early Voice presents their annual Christmas concert: "Alleluya: Christmas Hymns and Motets," on Monday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 pm at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on the Green. The concert will feature gorgeous 15th-16th century Latin motets, a Magnificat by Gombert, and lovely old German Christmas hymns. Amaryllis, now in its 5th year, is a small vocal ensemble dedicated to the performance of Renaissance music. Members are from area towns in Addison County, including two of us from Monkton. The group is conducted by Susanne Peck, music director at St. Stephen's and an affiliate artist with Middlebury College. Suggested donation of $13.
