I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving celebration with your friends and families!
Our December meeting of the League of Women Voters in the Northeast Kingdom will be next Sunday, DECEMBER 3rd FROM 3:30-5:00 p.m. AT THE UNITED COMMUNITY CHURCH NORTH (across from the Fairbanks Museum on Main St.) in St. Johnsbury. **We may not be able to be in the Parlor as we usually are, but we will have signs to direct you either up- or downstairs to an alternative meeting space.
Eileen Boland will be visiting to talk with us about the Vermont Commission on Women. If you have heard about it, would like to know more and what projects it is currently working on, Eileen is one of the Commissioners, so she'll be able to give us the scoop, and answer our questions.
Please bring $5 and a nonperishable food item to donate to the United Community Church's food shelf. Last month we discussed how we would like to repay the UCC for the use of the Parlor for our meetings, and we came up with the idea of making both a cash donation to the church to help keep the lights on, as well as a food offering to support their work on behalf of the community through the food shelf.
Last but definitely not least: if you are interested in helping new citizens register to vote, you can volunteer at the LWVVT's table at the upcoming naturalization ceremony on Tuesday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. in Montpelier. Please contact Kate Rader of the LWV of Central Vermont at catherine.rader@myfairpoint.net if you are interested in signing up or if you have questions.
Have a good week!
