Stereotypes About Aging: Myths, Facts, and Consequences
with Lenore T. Szuchman, Author, developmental psychologist and professor emerita, Barry University, FL

When we negatively stereotype older adults, we disparage a group that contains people we love as well as our own future or current selves. Implicit ageism is more common than implicit racism or sexism. But certain stereotypes can limit life choices for older people, for example, to be hired, to be sexual, to be treated for depression. Such stereotypes can also become self-fulfilling.
Come join your friends, neighbors and future friends for the lively discussion. Have a drink and stay for dinner (or not).
