Have you heard? THE PARADE IS COMING!

The first annual Champlain Islands Christmas Parade will be held Saturday December 2, 2017 immediately following the South Hero Fire Department Tree Lighting ceremony at approximately 5pm.

The parade, a joint effort between Isle of Patmos #17 Masonic Lodge and The Islander newspaper will begin at the South Hero Town Offices and proceed down Rte 2, turning onto South Street and continuing to Folsom school.

Multiple local businesses will be pulling decorated trailers in addition to holiday lighted tractors, trucks and other vehicles all for the enjoyment those in attendance.

After the parade, all are invited to come to the historic Isle of Patmos Masonic Lodge #17, on South Street for hot Chili, Cornbread, Hot Dogs and Michigan Sauce, dessert, hot and cold drinks. Donations will be accepted. (Pssst... we're hoping Santa will visit !)

Our goal is to create a memorable fun filled event for children of all ages in celebration of our Island community AND raise money by donation to benefit the UVM Children's Hospital.

Everyone is affected by the events occurring in the world today. Let’s take time out to join friends and neighbors and enjoy a simple event to bring some goodwill into our lives.

Hope to see you there.
