Future Amtrak Storage Location Discussion at DPW

Past event
Nov 15, 2017, 6:30 PM

Please join us to discuss the future servicing and storage location for the Amtrak Ethan Allen train – currently scheduled to begin service to Burlington in 2020. A steering committee consisting of the City of Burlington, the State of Vermont and the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission have been evaluating locations. While Amtrak has technical and logistical requirements that need to be met, the steering committee has also considered important factors such as view, noise, property and right of way impacts.

Four sites in Burlington are currently being evaluated:

• Flynn Ave, adjacent to the new City Market
• Burlington Railyard
• Burlington Waterfront between King and College
• Beach Track, North of Waterfront Park

The public presentation and discussion will take place during the Burlington Public Works Commission meeting on Wednesday November 15th at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Burlington Department of Public Works main conference room, located at 645 Pine St in Burlington. There will be opportunities for public comment.
