On Sunday, November 12, Emily Joselson and Andy Nagy-Benson will host another COMMUNITY CONVERSATION — “Health Care Today: Access, Obstacles, and Paths Forward.” Across the nation and in Vermont, questions concerning health care coverage, quality, and cost confound service providers and recipients alike. How might policies increase better access to health care? What do health care professionals see, day to day, that might help us understand the barriers of providing health care and the alternatives for improving its delivery. We are grateful to the following panelists for their willingness to share their perspectives and to guide our conversation: Marian Bouchard, MD (Family Practice Physician at Mountain Health Center in Bristol, a private practice that became a Federally Qualified Health Care Center in 2012); Fred Kniffin, MD (Physician; President of Porter Medical Center, which affiliated with UVM Medical Center in 2017); Jessica Holmes, PhD (Professor of Economics at Middlebury College; member of the Green Mountain Care Board); Ellen Oxfeld, PhD (Professor of Anthropology at Middlebury College; board member of Vermont Health Care for All).
This month’s Community Conversation will take place from 4:00-5:30 at The Congregational Church of Middlebury (UCC), 2 Main Street. It’s free and open to the public. Please join us!
