4th & Final Hogback ESH Work Party

Past event
Nov 12, 2017, 9 AM to 12 PM

Sunday’s work day on Hogback will mark the end of year five for the ESH (early successional habitat) project. We’re now at the halfway point in our ten-year effort to increase wildlife habitat variety on the mountain. We’ve accomplished some great stuff - not only providing new niches for animals and birds to find food and shelter, but also opening up some great views for hikers and some fun slopes for skiers. Volunteers have made it happen - people willing to spend a morning on the mountain cutting and hauling brush. Join us!

Meet at 9:00 in the parking lot on the south side of Route 9 near the white distillery building just west of the gift shop. Bring your own favorite tool, or borrow one from our collection. It’s an easy 5-minute walk from the parking lot to the Practice Slope, where we are working this year. Interested in what we’re doing, but not able to do physical clipping and hauling? Come by anyway. We’d be happy to take a break and show you what we’ve been up to.
