The Shoreham Selectboard is drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Vermont Gas. They are holding a public meeting on Thursday, December 19 at Shoreham Elementary School, to hear citizens concerns about what should be in the agreement as well as the process. Basically, this agreement will specify under which conditions the Town will support Phase Two of the pipeline project. One issue: will Shoreham residents get to vote on the final MOU draft or will the Selectboard adopt the MOU without having a Town-wide vote? Vermont Gas filed their application for Phase Two with the Vermont Public Service Board on November 19, 2013. The December 19 meeting is a public meeting and anyone can attend. Shoreham residents in particular are strongly urged to come.
