Meet Award-Winning Author Katherine Paterson!
Saturday, November 18 at 11 AM
at the Flying Pig Bookstore

Join us in welcoming one of Vermont's most beloved literary treasures -- Katherine Paterson -- to the Flying Pig Bookstore on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 AM. Paterson is the author of many beloved books for young people, including Bridge to Terabithia and Jacob Have I Loved. She has won numerous Newbery Medals and National Book Awards, and in 2000, she was named a Living Legend by the Library of Congress. Her latest book, My Brigadista Year, follows a young Cuban teenager as she volunteers for Fidel Castro's national literacy campaign and travels into the impoverished countryside to teach others how to read. There will be a reading and Q & A with Paterson, followed by a signing.

Meet the Author of the "Sweet Pea and Friends" books, John Churchman
Saturday, November 25 at 2 PM
at the Flying Pig Bookstore

Come meet John Churchman (the author) and Maisie (the sheepdog) when they come to the Flying Pig on Small Business Saturday to celebrate A Farm for Maisie, the latest in the Sweet Pea & Friends series. John and Jennifer Churchman’s wildly popular first book, The Sheepover, was a New York Times bestseller and a true favorite among fellow Vermonters (the Churchmans live on their farm in Essex). The newest addition to the Sweet Pea & Friends series stars Maisie, a puppy who arrives at Moonrise Farm and is eager to find her place among the other animals. All three Sweet Pea books will be available for purchase, and Mr. Churchman will be on-hand to sign and personalize your copy. Maisie will be on-hand for photo opps and general adoration.
